Here’s a fine example of a BCC bus driver making the effort to ensure the most cost effective experience for me on a recent trip.
Me: Just a return to the city please
Driver: No returns mate, only singles.
Me: Ok, sure
Driver: five-fifty mate
(transaction occurs) …
This was a trip made on a Sunday afternoon, when an ‘off peak’ ticket would have been valid – for the entire day – however, no instruction, advice or offer was made.
Here to help? ‘Cost effective’? – not on this trip..
